Corn is an American favorite, oftentimes a “summertime side dish” featured at backyard barbecues or as a staple food used to make tortillas or polenta.
Care & Handling
Corn husks should be green and have visible kernels that are plump and tightly packed on the cob.
To maintain the flavor and sweetness of corn, keep refrigerated until ready to use.
Remove husks from the corn prior to boiling or microwaving. Husks should also be removed if corn is going to be wrapped in aluminum foil for grilling.
Nutrition & Health Benefits:
Corn has many health benefits and is a terrific source of vitamin C, fiber and the mineral manganese – not to mention several antioxidant phytonutrients.
